About this figure
The share of the account balance that must be paid in a financial year from an account-based pension or annuity, for a person in this age group. The ATO calls these factors indicative only and points to the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Regulations 1994 for the precise rules, including pro-rating and rounding. Schedule 7 of those regulations takes the balance and the age on 1 July, or on the day payments start. The ATO table shows this rate for 2023-24 onwards.
