How it is worked out
The combined full pension threshold plus two times the assets above it at which the taper reduces one partner's maximum rate (the single rate) to nil, each partner's share rounded up to a multiple of $250. This matches the published values; the doubling of the rounded share is not taken from an official source. The calculation is set out in Department of Social Services: Social Security Guide, 4.2.3 Pensions & benefits assets tests.
