About this figure
The most a resident on the 1 July 2014 fee arrangements can be asked to pay in means tested care fees in their lifetime. My Aged Care says the same cap applies to Support at Home contributions for people covered by the no worse off principle, and that it changes with indexation in March and September. The effective date comes from the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing schedule of fees and charges from 20 September 2026.
